New Features and Enhancements

New Processor Support

Support for the following processors has been added to RSLogix Emulate 500:

New Instructions

Series C

The following instructions have been added for the OSx.10 operating system:

RHC, TDF, RMP, FBC, and DDT

BTR and BTW are allowed in the ladder code but, do not execute.

1200 and 1500

The following instructions have been added for the Micrologix 1500 and Micrologix 1200.  Note that this requires the use of RSLogix 500 v4.10.00 or greater.

HSL, OSF, OSR, RAC, RTO, STS, TOF, TON, UID, UIE, UIF, and ONS

The PID, PTO, PWM, SVC, and DLG instructions are allowed in the ladder code but, they don't execute.

RSView32 Integration

Previous versions of RSLogix Emulate 500 would not allow reading and writing of I/O points inside RSView32.  Now users can use the emulator to check their RSView32 applications.  Simply use RSLogix Emulate 500 as you would any other SLC processor.

RSS File Support

RSLogix Emulate 500 now supports the native RSLogix 500 file format .RSS.  The AI format .ACH is still supported.  This eliminates the need to export RSLogix 500 programs to the AI format.  This requires RSLogix 500 v4.10.00 or greater.

The following anomaly will occur unless v5.00 or greater of RSLogix 500 is used or the following work around is employed.

Problem:

Take a project online with a SLC or Micro Logix processor, go offline, make changes to the program, then go online with the emulator you will get into an infinite loop.

Work around:

Save the project to a new file name and then go online with the emulator.

The following known anomaly is in this RSLogix Emulate 500 release:

Problem:

  1. Download a file to the Emulator
  2. Edit that file in RSLogix 500
  3. Go online with that file
  4. The following prompt will continue to appear  "Program processor has changed causing an offline state. Do you want to upload?"

Workaround:

After editing the file, re-download it to the emulator and the problem will be resolved.
